a BaSkET fULL of rUbbiSH

Okay, life’s been ok past few days, or week fer that matter, gonna go for a short holiday this coming friday, the sandy beaches of Kuantan, one night, makan buffet like crazy then go beach, then go sleep, then go fish, then go back

Anyway, what’s been interesting past few days really, is this new discovery, a new discovery in terms of my stupid papers, u see……….once upon a time ar, I failed two papers, both also important ( duh….), and when I failed the first time, I studied based on whatever my lecturer gave us la, plus attending revision class summore u know, so I hero la, remember everything, wah damn action, do the tutorial over and over again, like tim mcgraw and nelly, lalalalala

Anyway, the gist is this, for 14 weeks plus 6 more for revision before the resits, of which I also failed, I never fully understood what Financial Management and Control meant, I din get anything, I just memorized everything, and again, I failed, once bitten twice shy, I got bitten twice.

I was wondering u know, where did I go wrong, what did I do wrong, until when I vowed never to touch my lecturer’s notes, skip it and read and understand EVERY SINGLE PAGE ON MY ACCA MANUAL. I did that, painstakingly slow but man, trust me, I never felt more relieved and charged up for the paper, at least now I understand.

No,it’s not bragging that I am better than the lecturers, it’s just that, the simplicity of sumthing was made like such a big deal by the lecturers that it instilled fear of the paper throughout the entire semester and really more than half of my class lingkup first time, and another 82 lingkup second time, now these 82 kids are sitting it again in 20 days, I dunno about me frens but I wish them well, it’s this silly mentality of ppl having to only remember the questions predicted by our lecturer that’s more important and knowing how to explain the practical part is secondary, I mean, internal papers sure la can, external ar?? Die la…….. and one more thing, I tried study group with a few fellas, all they did  was focus on the topics only, dun go by order, one minute finance one minute management, wah I crazy liao lor……..hey fren, if it’s meant to be studying like that, the kwai lohs won’t number or index ur topics in order from 1 – 27 right??, why u skip when u shouldn’t?? u think u what?? Hero ar??

Anyway, after two months of painstakingly attempting one question after another, I see light, I see future, I see stars, I see everything nice and clear, thank God,

No offense, but despite all the knowledge that is in store with my lecturer, ma’am no offense, u didn’t give me anything. It’s sad when I have to learn my own mistakes while u go bragging that our paper is not as tough as the MA students, and that we dun have to go too detail and we’re lucky and the constant reminder that it was U who prepared the paper, we did not learn, I have done a survey of a few classmates who passed the paper, 90% of em said they dun remember much about the paper, and it’s sad as we’re suppose to study the extended version of it next sem. Wish those guys luck la, I’m okay, I had the OPPORTUNITY TO FAIL, and re learn and now I am even ready to embrace the higher level topics next sem, it’s gonna be showdown time, Cynical as I may be, We did not learn financial management, we merely remembered the answers. =). Some were lucky, I wasn’t.

So, anyone else reading this, after three years in college, it’s more important really to understand the issue at hand than to memorize, it’s like me telling u ur mother’s a woman, but take it from a guy who failed not once but twice in the same sitting, to those who think that u can clear all ur papers by memorizing, man, u;re gonna die real soon.
